ADROIT SERVICES LIMITED – TERMS OF BUSINESS (UPDATED JULY 2014)

HOURLY RATE: If a written quotation has not been provided and the job has been quoted as being carried out as an hourly rate, the total charge will be in accordance with the Company’s current hourly rate. The Customer will be charged for the first hour even if time spent is less than this but after the first hour time is chargeable in 15 minute slots. Any materials used/supplied will be charged in addition to the hourly rate. Total charge to the Customer will include any materials supplied. All charges are inclusive of VAT at the current rate.

WRITTEN QUOTATIONS:Where a written quotation has been supplied to the Customer the total charge to the Customer referred to in the quotation will be for all the items listed in the breakdown and should not exceed the sum quoted but may be revised in the following circumstances:-

(i) if after submission of the quotation the Customer instructs the Company (whether orally or in writing) to carry out additional works not referred to in the estimate.

(ii) if after submission of the quotation it is discovered that further works need to be carried out which were not anticipated when the quotation was prepared.

(iii) acceptance of the quotation is taken up after the 28 days from the date of the quotation.

(iv) if after submission of the estimate it is discovered that there was a manifest error when the estimate was prepared.

ACCEPTANCE OF QUOTATIONS:- Where a written quotation has been supplied to the Customer and they wish to proceed with the works outlined in the quotation, an ‘Acceptance of Quotation’ form should be completed and returned to the Company’s Office address.

DEPOSITS: Upon acceptance of the quotation the Company requests a deposit of 25% of the total sum. This is due prior to the start of the job and can be paid by cheque or BACs. If paid by cheque, this will not be banked until a few days before the agreed start date. If paid by BACs,  payment is expected 3 working days prior to the agreed start date.

MATERIAL COLLECTION: Collection of non stock items is chargeable but time will be kept to a minimum and be reasonable and the Customer will be informed when the engineer is leaving the premises.

COMPLETION OF WORKS: If after completion of works, the Customer is not wholly satisfied with the works then the Customer shall give notice in writing within 12 months to the Company and shall afford the Company, and its insurers, the opportunity of both inspecting such works and carrying out any necessary remedial works if appropriate. The Customer accepts that if he fails to notify the Company as aforesaid then the Company shall not be liable in respect of any defects in the works carried out.

These Terms of Business and all contracts awarded between the Company and the Customer shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English law.
